eCPM means "effective cost per thousand impressions". eCPM is the factor which makes a difference between high and low Google adsense income. To have high CPC (Cost per click) you need high eCPM ratio which is your CTR (cost through click). Don't get confused the ratio of your clicks and impressions is called CTR.It's not new to hear from bloggers and website owners that they recieve thousands of unique impressions per day but still they earn around $2-$5/day only. It's because of low eCPM the income drops very low. It doesn't mean there is something wrong with Google's adsense program. It's the best money making program on internet and with few things to follow you can make good money even if your impressions are lower than that of your fellow bloggers.
Here are some tips which can help you make your eCPM better:
- First is your content: Make sure you have some unique content to offer your visitors to attract good amount of traffic to your blog/website.
- Bounce rate: Bounce depends on the number of pages viewed by a unique visitor on your blog. More the number of page views by unique visitors lesser is the bounce rate and better the eCPM rate.
- Better navigation: Have a good and easy navigation in your blog which will encourage visitors to view more and more pages from your blog.
- Ad placement: It's important where you place advertisements on your blog. If you have placed ads below your posts then it will receive less number on clicks and also lowering your eCPM. See this Google's strong perfoming areas. Try placing large ladder board banner above your post or 336*280 large size rectangle ad above post.
