Banned From Google? Tips To Remove A Ban From Google

Getting banned by Google can be a huge set back to a website. Google is the most used search engine on internet and dominates about 90% of the searches made worldwide and rest 10% is covered by search engines like Yahoo!, Bing, Baidu, Ask and other search engine. There is no doubt that Google has the supremacy over the searches on internet and if your website has been removed from those search results then that means your website is losing a huge amount of targeted traffic.



How to find out if a website is banned on Google?

It may not seem to be something instantaneous which you might know straight away. There are few tests which you can do to confirm whether you have been banned on Google or not.


  • If you find your pages are no more indexed on Google.
  • Your page rank suddenly drops to 0.
  • You lost your SERP's for your keywords and you can't find your website on any page now.
Things which can get you banned on Google.


  1. Duplicate content: Using the same content across the same domain or lifting content from other sites can cause serious spam problems to your website and can result in getting banned.
  2. Cloaking: It's a black hat SEO trick in which a different content is provided to the visitor of the website and completely different content is targeted to search engines. Making your webpages to behave like this can lead to a ban on Google.
  3. Hidden text: Hiding irrelevant text in your website in order to target search engines for those keywords. Trying to hide the text in any sort of way on your pages whether it's by making font size very tiny to be seen or matching the background color with the font color or anything else. All this will not work with Google, Google is too smart to be fooled this way.
  4. Doorway pages: These are the webpages which are targeted to some keywords but when someone visits those pages they are redirected to some other web page, these pages are called Doorways entry pages.
  5. Web pages with Viruses, Trojans or other Malwares and Spywares: Distribution of these malwares through your webpages cal also lead to your ban on Google.
  6. Linking to spamming websites: Spamming websites are considered to be bad linking networks, linking your website with these spamming websites can bring down your pagerank. These websites are not very high on pageranks and you can find out these spamming websites by just surfing few of their web pages and see if they are violating any Google's terms of use.

How to remove a ban from Google?

In your Google webmaster tools select the domain which you want to remove from ban and there in the panel you will find an option of Reconsideration Requests or you can directly go here to select your domain and submit reconsideration request. However a ban from Google is not a permanent ban mostly, a temporary ban can be of 3-12 months if not a permanent ban. It's better to read the terms of Google once when you are getting started with the online business because Google plays very important role in a success of website, so it's better to follow the master's terms.
