How To Create Photoshop Brushes? Complete Tutorial

Learn to create photoshop brushes from scratch. I'm going to show you how easy it is to create your own custom photoshop brushes.

1. Open a new photoshop document of 400 x 400 pixels with a white background.
2. Now select the custom shape tool and then select any shape you would like to create a brush, I am selecting a leaf shape. Create the shape in your page. A shape is not editable in photoshop so you need to rasterize it, to do so go to Layers >> Rasterize >> shape and your layer will be now editable.
3. Now select your entire document by pressing (Ctrl + A), now go to Edit >> Define Brush. A dialoge box will appear which will ask a name for your custom brush, provide a desired name to your brush in my case I have named "Autmn Leaf".
4. After you save your brush, it's time to test your brush how it looks. Create a new document in photoshop and select brush tool. Click on the brushes in the right panel on your photoshop window and select brush presets and look for your brush which you have created.
5. After selecting the brush it's time to test it now, just apply the brush in your new document and see how it look.

This is just a mere example of a simple photoshop brush. I choose a shape to create a brush but it's not necessary your have to choose shapes only instead you can make photoshop brushes from any image document you want. Just churn the wheels of your creativity and bring out some masterpiece.
